Advertising / Membership Sales

The Northeast Neighbors & Business Association (NENBA) is seeking Advertising / Membership Sales Associates.

Qualified candidates will be responsible for selling online advertising on the NENBA's affiliated websites and/or Memberships in the NENBA or its subsidiary association(s):

Northeast Neighbors & Business Association (Memberships and Tile Ads/Banner Ads)

Winners™ (Women in Northeast) (Memberships and Tile Ads/Banner Ads)

Local Biz Bucks™ Online Coupons (Online Coupons and Tile Ads/Banner Ads)

Northeast Minneapolis Crime Watch & Information (Tile Ads and Banner Ads)

This is a great opportunity with significant income potential for any community member or business-minded student looking to set their own schedule and work as an Independent Contractor while networking and building valuable connections with business leaders in the Northeast Minneapolis area.

You can help the NENBA fulfill its mission to provide affordable, effective marketing resources and alternatives for neighborhood businesses.

The qualified candidate will be provided with an in-depth overview of the business-friendly mission of the NENBA, all necessary marketing materials, as well as potential contact lists.

The qualified candidate will be expected to:

--Contact potential new members and advertisers, set appointments or cold call

--Effectively convey the mission of the NENBA and the value of Membership and/or marketing on the NENBA's websites to businesses and potential advertisers in the Northeast Minneapolis area


--Negotiate advertising terms and obtain commitments from advertisers

--Collect written details about the businesses and/or terms negotiated for  coupon ads and tile ads, etc.

--Manage a basic contact database

--Communicate regularly and provide status reports to the NENBA administrator

The candidate will be expected to communicate with existing NENBA business members and other business owners/managers/leaders in the Northeast Minneapolis area.

The candidate will receive all necessary guidance and assistance from the NENBA administrator, but will be expected to work fairly independently to set appointments and visit with business leaders.

The position has a flexible time commitment, but the candidate should anticipate working during normal business operating hours, when business decision-makers are available. Some travel within the Northeast Minneapolis area may be required. Some experience with sales and marketing would be helpful, but not required.

Access to a portable laptop or notebook computer  would be helpful, but not required.

Requirements:

--Good communication and writing skills

--Attention to detail

--Access to phone, internet and email

--Ability to organize, coordinate and network

--Ability to work independently

Compensation: Candidate will work as an Independent Contractor on generous commission basis well above industry standards.
Specific details will be discussed with qualified candidates. Potential to negotiate base compensation based on experience and performance.

Candidate will be expected to maintain confidentiality in regard to data, contacts and proprietary information pertaining to the NENBA, its subsidiaries and websites.

Event Planner/Coordinator (volunteer/intern)

NOTE: POSITION CLOSED

The Northeast Neighbors & Business Association (NENBA) is seeking a volunteer/intern to help plan and coordinate monthly networking events. This position is available immediately.

 

This is a great opportunity for any student or community member looking to network and build valuable connections with business leaders in the Northeast Minneapolis area and hone their marketing, communications and public relations skills.

 

The qualified candidate will be given general outlines and objectives, as well as potential contact lists, and will be expected to:
 
--Create and coordinate all aspects of casual, social-themed business networking events including identifying venues, determining basic hospitality needs, etc.
 
--Garner door prizes
 
--Develop creative attendance incentives
 
--Manage a basic contact database
 

--Send email invitations and track/collect RSVPs

--Attend the networking event

 

The candidate will receive all necessary guidance and assistance from the NENBA administrator, but will be expected to work fairly independently to plan and coordinate events.

 

The candidate will be expected to communicate with existing NENBA business members and other business owners/managers/leaders in the Northeast Minneapolis area.

 

The position would require approximately 10-12 hours per month. Some travel within the Northeast Minneapolis area may be required. Some experience coordinating events would be helpful, but not required.

 

Requirements:

Ability to organize, coordinate and network

Ability to work independently
Preference will be given to candidates that reside in the Northeast Minneapolis area

 

Candidate will be expected to maintain confidentiality in regard to data, contacts and proprietary information pertaining to the NENBA.

 

This is a volunteer/intern position without monetary pay.
